EcoLocal received a request from a local councillor for help to get Muschamp Primary School’s Cunning Wheelbarrow Gardening Project under way. Coincidentally, as mentioned in the Autumn newsletter, our SOGG Committee was looking to support schools gardening (catch ‘em young!). After linking up, John and Alma were invited to meet the children and see all the ways organic gardening is promoted throughout the school. On the visit, a SOGG donation of £100 and seeds (members’ own saved and some suitable bought ones) were gratefully accepted. Muschamp would welcome continuing contact with SOGG. Help with the boys and girls in the younger classes to grow their own is invited, as the school aims to start children off the organic way.
Update: Congratulations to Muschamp Primary for winning Sutton in Bloom Best School Garden 2016.
